Milan's Menswear Fashion Week kicks off with a taste of Gucci's brilliant homage to today's vanity-obsessed metropolitan male. With the pompous gentleman as her timeless muse, Gucci's Frida Giannini simply states, "he's elegant, sophisticated, and proud". For the fall 2011 collection, the creative director's inspirations drew influence from past rock legends of the 80's and 90's. “I was thinking of iconic, stylish men like Rod Stewart and Mick Jagger, but I didn’t want to be referential or nostalgic. I wanted a new story" she said. From the beautiful saturation of tender neutrals and soft pinks to deep blacks and rich blues, Gucci's fall collection emotes anything but a deadly sin.
